Salvacion (Sally) Meneses Ronquillo, age 87, passed away on Friday, November 22nd 2019 at St. Josephs Petaluma Valley Hospital in Petaluma, CA. She was in the presence of her loving family. Sally was born in Albuera, Leyte on June 8th, 1932 to Conrada Juanillo and Arcadio Meneses Sr. She graduated from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1953. She practiced Dentistry in the Philippines until she came to the United States in 1954, where she obtained certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Sally married Benjamin Ronquillo Sr., US Navy, in 1953 and the two raised their family of five where they settled in San Francisco, CA. Sally worked as a Head Laboratory Technician at Stanford University, School of Medicine and later as a Clinical Lab Technician at St. Marys Hospital. Sally spent the majority of her career at UCSF Medical Center as a Hospital Laboratory Technician. After 29 years of service at UCSF, Sally continued to work in the early to mid 1990s for various doctors in the Department of Dermatology, MOHS surgery, as well as the Department of Veterans Affair in Dermatology. True to her roots, she enjoyed fishing with her family and visiting her brothers and sisters. Equally passionate about the arts, she enjoyed jewelry making, photography, ballroom dance and the art of black jack. The eldest of nine siblings, she helped several of her siblings emigrate to the U.S. where they continue their tradition of family gatherings filled with song and dance. Sally is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Ronquillo Sr. and her daughter Marilyn. She is survived by her husband, Jose Mata of 23 years; her brothers Johnny and Arcadio Jr. and sister Paz; her four children Mitzi, Isabelle, Benjamin and Jeanette; her 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
