Malven Cook Haileybury, Ontario Obituary

Malven Cook

Cook, Malvin Fredrick. On Friday November 22, 2019 at the Temiskaming Hospital, the energy that made him an inspiration and a legend to his family and friends passed into eternity. Born April 4, 1942 to the late Fred Cook and Rhoda (nee Miller). Missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda (nee Brown). Proud father of son Carl (Tatum), step-daughter Shannon Mason (Scott) and step-son Manse (Sarah) Mason. Also other surviving children. His pride and joy were his little angels, granddaughters Isla Taylor-Cook and Tessa Mason. Grandsons Luca Taylor-Cook and David Mason who he never got to meet. Survived by his sister Connie Visser (Klaas) and brother Bill Cook (Carole). Brother-in-law Dan Brown, sisters-in-law Janet (Ben) Benoit and Carole McCabe and many nieces and nephews. Mal was a heavy equipment mechanic, self employed for many years and also worked for local businesses. His favourite thing to do was fixing the wiring on things. He loved his motorcycle and could be seen at the Bikers' Reunion and taking family members on the Freedom Ride. He loved going to Portage Bay to camp and getting his boat out to go fishing with family. Mal was always available to help anybody. He went above and beyond in helping people and the same in his work. Thank you to Dr Logan, Dr Davies and special thanks to the nurses and hospital staff who cared for him. As per his wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Bikers' Reunion would be greatly appreciated. Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. We will never forget you. BUFFAM LEVEILLE FUNERAL HOME Haileybury Ontario 705-672-3122
