Debra Stevenson Obituary

Deb Stevenson, 64, Laurel, passed away suddenly at her home next to her loving husband Jim. Deb was born in Bozeman, Montana on August 14, 1955 to Gene and LaVonne Knox. She was raised in Billings, Montana with her sister Gail Erhardt. She started her 35 year career at The Billings Clinic in 1982 as a receptionist. After she finished nursing school in 1992, she continued employment as a nurse in Occupational Medicine until she retired in 2017. She was passionate about providing care, and made some lifelong friends with her colleagues. Deb had two daughters, Sandi and Shannon, who she loved dearly. Her world revolved around supporting them in any and all adventures. From weekly snowmobile trips through Yellowstone Park every winter, to playing on the lake waterskiing and tubing, and four-wheeling. She loved to take her daughters skiing and sharing silly stories on the chair lift. She never missed a school event, game, or any important life event in her girls’ lives. She met, and married the love of her life, Jim Stevenson, in 1994. And her family grew to include his three children, Stacey, Amy and Matt. Deb and Jim were really enjoying life in retirement. They had already been on many adventures! She loved to spend time in the mountains. She raced through the trails on her ATV will her doggies Nikki and Molly. Deb’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She made them all feel so loved. She is survived by her husband Jim and her mother Lavonne. Daughter Sandi (Patrick), Shannon (Adam), Stacey (Doug), Matt (Jennifer) and Amy; and grandchildren, Ericka, Ashley, Raelynn, Adam Marc, Maria, Jacob, Cade, Mikayla, Taylor, Jordyn, Mavis and Jameson; Sister, Gail (Don); Nephew, Corey (Tina) and great niece Charlotte. Deb was preceded in death by her father Gene. Funeral services will be held at Smith’s Funeral Chapel in Laurel Montana on Wednesday, November 27th at 11 AM. The burial will be at Rockvale Cemetery directly following the service. We will host time together after the burial at the Stevenson's home in Laurel, Montana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montana Wounded Warriors.
