Neil Savage Toledo, Ohio Obituary

Neil Savage

Neil Savage, 73, of Toledo, OH answered God’s calling on Thursday November 21, 2019 with his loving wife Laura of 47 years, by his side. Neil served his country from 1968-1970 on the Destroyer, USS Carpenter DD-825 in the Vietnam War. Neil worked as sales manager for many car dealerships locally. Neil is a lifetime member at Riverview Yacht Club, where he is loved by family and many friends. His laughter was infectious! Neil is preceded in death by parents, Catherine and Frank Savage; brother, David; and nephews, David and Jeffery. He is survived by his wife, Laura; sons, James (Heather) Savage (Kamryn, Alyssa) and Robert (Megan) Savage (Allison, Jackson); niece, Kathy Whitmill (Doyle) (Jessica, Alexandria, Doyle Jr.); nephew, Mark (Glenda) Savage (Joanna Orozco, Shaunna Touby). His love of family inspired him to fight the battle for three years. Neil’s favorite things to do were boating, and fishing with his sons and grandson, Jackson. Neil was loved by many and will be heartfully missed. Our stories of his life will keep us alive laughing in his memory. Even in his final hours, Neil kept us with a light heart with his one liner’s. He wanted us to be OK. Family and friends may visit on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. Toledo, OH where members of the Riverview Yacht Club will conduct a service at 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass for Neil will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd. Toledo, OH 43610, Msgr.
