Betty Jeanne Woolworth Obituary

Betty Jeanne Woolworth, age 87, of Estelline, SD formerly of Clear Lake, SD passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake. Inurnment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at Houseman Funeral Home. Betty Jeanne Woolworth “Jeanne” was born November 04, 1932 to Frank and Violet (Sterry) Schonberger in rural Waverly, South Dakota. She was raised near Waverly where she attended school through the 8th grade. On December 21st, 1949 she was united in marriage to Don Woolworth. Following their marriage, they lived in rural Altamont South Dakota where she worked on the farm raising sheep, milking cows, and farrowing hogs. They had three children Ginger, Brett and Sondra. She worked at the Wagon Wheel Café. Then later owned the Iceberg Drive Inn where she worked for several years. Jean loved getting dressed up, having her hair done and putting her make up on were some of the most important things to her. She enjoyed shopping, going to rummage sales, baking, watching TV and reading. She was part of the Altamont Community club and the women’s church clubs. Jean was survived by her children: Ginger (Steve) Casjens and Brett (Jan) Woolworth; son-in-law Mike Reichling; grandchildren: Scott (Jen) Casjens, Randi (Jerry) Bauman, Amanda Casjens, Michelle (Tim) Blackburn, Michael (Leah) Reichling, Jessica (Jesse) Peterson and Laura Woolworth; step-grandchildren: Jerrie (Brady) Hayes, Hank (Dawn) Leemhuis and Deanna (Loren) Bratetic ; great-grandchildren: Alex, Tyler, Cody, Colin, Cade, Tegan, Tenley, Cambria, David, Chance, Austen, Marshal, Peyton and Cora; and sister, Patty Raderschadt. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Don, daughter Sondra, two brother and two sisters, and her parents.
