JoAn Lynn Obituary

JoAn Korslund Lynn, 92, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on November 19, 2019, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, MT, lovingly surrounded by family. JoAn was born on August 10, 1927, in Harlowton, MT, to Joseph and Dorotha Balfour Korslund. She graduated from high school in Tacoma, Washington. There she met and married Michael T. Ellenwood. They had three children; Robert, Mark, and Roxanne. Mike and JoAn often visited Montana and returned to their roots, their birthstate, in 1963. Mike preceded her in death in 1972. In 1978, JoAn married widower Robert E. Lynn of Polson. She lovingly embraced all of Bob’s family, becoming a beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt and friend to them, also. They resided on the west shore of Flathead Lake, spending many of their days together picking huckleberries, cutting firewood, soaking in hot springs, picnicking on mountainsides, ice skating, and spending as much time as possible with family. Bob preceded her in death in 2003. JoAn worked for many years at Mission Mountain Enterprises, selflessly giving of herself to every individual she cared for and treating them as family. She loved the Lord, gardening, spending time outside, cooking for everyone and every occasion (hosting many holiday meals with ease), swimming at the aquatics center, and always had a yarn project in the works. She kept everyone well supplied with Watkins products, selling them for over 30 years. She was also an enthusiastic Seattle Mariners fan, rarely missing a televised game! JoAn is survived by daughter-in-law Belermina (Mimi) Ellenwood, St. Augustine, FL; son-in-law Vern Reum (Shae Le Gillin), Polson; Dianne Lynn Swandal (Patrick), Old Town, ME; Donna Lynn Morigeau (Robert), Palmer, AK; Colleen Lynn Myers (Howard), Palmer, AK; Robert D. Lynn (Dianne), Kalispell; Julie Lynn, Missoula; and Mary Foot (Michael), Helena; grandchildren Robert L. Ellenwood, Jr., Shane Reum, Shane Swandal, Chelsea Swandal Whitten, Meghan Swandal Dill, Joshua Morigeau, Justin Morigeau, Kalea Myers Hogate, Brandon Myers, Aimee Lynn Husted, and Angela Lynn Kenney; and numerous dear great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters Louise Stephenson and Caroline Wagner, brother Robert Korslund, sons Robert and Mark Ellenwood, daughter Roxanne Ellenwood Reum, and grandchildren Yilka Ellenwood Eusea, Tammy Reum Powell, and Jason Morigeau. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Polson Health and Rehab as well as at St. Joseph Hospital for their extraordinary care. Services will be held at The Lake Funeral Home in Polson, at 10am on Monday, November 25th, with graveside at Lakeview Cemetery, and a luncheon reception at the Immaculate Conception Church. JoAn loved color so we encourage you to wear some of your favorite to honor her. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Valley Aquatics and Fitness at 309 Ridgewater Drive, Polson, MT 59860, one of JoAn’s favorite places! :)
