Clifford Lee Holland, Manitoba Obituary

Clifford Lee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa, Clifford Howard Lee, at the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home on November 19, 2019. He had just turned 94. Cliff was born on November 9, 1925, the 3rd child of Howard and Sarah (McGregor) Lee. On November 14, 1947 he married the love of his life, Phyllis Wright. They were happily married for 72 years, a wonderful example to us all of love, care, respect and commitment. Together they farmed in the districts of East Treherne, MacGregor and North Treherne (Matchettville). Son, Larry joined the farming operation in 1975, gradually taking over the family farm but Cliff was still actively helping out at the age of 80. After retiring from the farm , Cliff and Phyllis moved into town (Treherne) and then more recently to Holland. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, and sons, Garnet (Gloria Enns) and Larry (Penny Ransome). He was the proud grandfather of Jody (Brent Budz), Brook (Rosslyn Miller), Michele (Kevin Lanyon), Melanie (Brent Baete) and Tyler. He cherished his role as great grandpa to Hannah and Logan Budz, Makenna, Aubrey and Callie Lanyon, Jaxon and Paizley Baete, Brooklyn Miller- Lee, Dan Connolly (Laura) and Doyle Atagootsiak. Also mourning his passing are sisters, Opal Turnbull and Margaret Downey and brother, Maurice Lee (Dolores), sister in law, Laura Lee, and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and many good friends. Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Sarah, step-mother, Mary (Nattrass), mother and father in law, Nell and Tom Wright, brothers, Doug and Jack, sister, Chris (Warren), and brothers in law, Wally Warren and Ken Turnbull. Cliff’s life was well lived and he was well loved. He has been a major presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will remain with us in our memories of his kindness and gentle teasing, his interest in all that we did and his inherent guiding influence in our lives. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Tiger Hills Personal Care home for their compassion and care for Cliff during his stay there. A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held on November 27, 2019 at 2:00 at the Treherne United Church with Heather Grobb officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at a later date. Friends and family are invited to a reception at The Treherne Community Centre following the service. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Tiger Hills Community Foundation, P.O.Box 342, Treherne, MB. R0G 2V0 or a charity of their choice.
