Jo Lynn Linton Obituary

Jo Lynn (Brown) Linton, age 62, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at 9:44p.m.in the Franklin Hospital – Benton, Illinois.  She was born May 29, 1953 in Evansville, Indiana to James Curtis and Patricia Delores (Cook) Brown.  She was the beloved wife of Joey Linton, whom she married January 12, 1980 in West Frankfort, Illinois and the proud and devoted mother of Jake Linton.   Jo Lynn’s life was about faith in God and love for her family.   She had an unforgettable smile, was very quick witted and blessed with a wonderful sense of humor.  She had a very soft heart for those in need.   There have been many troubling situations turned into “happy endings” due to Jo Lynn’s intervention.  She was also widely known for her love and compassion for animals.  Everything from injured owls, baby deer, to lost cats and dogs seemed to know where to go for help…Jo Lynn Linton’s!   She is survived by her husband, Joey; her son, Jake; a sister Vanda (Roger) Stanley; a brother, Jim (Angela) Brown; and several nieces and nephews.  We are all extremely blessed to have been a part of Jo Lynn’s life.   She was preceded in death by her parents.   We will be honoring Jo Lynn’s wishes by having a private service.  Union Funeral Home – West Frankfort, Illinois is handling the arrangements.   Memorials may be made at Go Fund Me to help with service expenses.
