Sanson Watkins

Mr. Sanson Leroy Watkins, age 81of Talking Rock, GA passed on Tuesday November 19th, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Watkins was born on December 13th, 1937 in Blue Ridge, GA to his late parents, Christopher C. and Geneva Bradburn Watkins. He was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church and retired from the Georgia Marble Whitestone division after 43 years. He is preceded in death by his son, Marvin Watkins, sister, Sue W. Carroll, grandchild, Christy Fleming, and great-grandchild, Penelope Hefner. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace Parks and Rev. Eugene Davis officiating. Music and vocals will be by Elridge Silvers. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Daniel Davenport, Ryan Fogerty, Josh Watkins, Chris Hefner, Clinton Etheridge, Jr. and Gary Bramlett all serving as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife Mary E. Watkins of the home in Talking Rock; children and in-laws, Sheila (Mark) Harper of Ellijay, GA, Michael (Kathy) Watkins of Ellijay, GA, Eugene (Robin) Watkins of Talking Rock, GA; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sadie W. Etheridge of Ellijay, GA, Virginia W. Crider of Dalton, GA, Vay W. Davenport of Cherry Log, GA, Lee Watkins of Ranger, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday November 21st at the Logan Funeral Home.
