Barbara Louise Stewart– It is with great sadness but also, with a peaceful relief that our mother’s struggle with cancer is over; that we share of Mom’s passing. Mom left us on Tuesday, November 19th, surrounded by those family members that symbolized her purpose on this planet was all about family. <br> <br>Mom was born in Oshawa on March 29th, 1936 to parents Roy and Doreen Broom. She married her first and only true love, Walter Stewart who passed away far too young on February 20, 2010. Mom also survived the passing of her younger brother Brian Broom on October 5, 2017. She leaves with us, her sister Brenda (Tim) Payne. Although, our family was given the gift of time to prepare for mom’s passing, it will never be enough. Until we meet again, she leaves Her son Mark (Denise) Stewart and their children Adam (Dianna) Stewart and their children Addysen and Gabriel; Andrew (Victoria) Stewart and their children, Carter, Anastasia, and Hayden; and youngest son Chad Stewart (Natalie Dyer) Also, she will be forever missed by her daughter Karen (Gord) Ferguson, their son Caley Ferguson and his children Cooper and Piper; and their son Christopher Ferguson.<br> <br>She will be forever missed at our family dinners, card games, Thanksgiving weekends, poker weeks, shopping expeditions, casinos, happy hours, and forever present in our hearts at each and every family gathering. 💜 <br> <br>Please join Mom’s family and host of friends to celebrate our gratefulness to have been a part of her life and her journey. We have chosen visitation to be Thursday November 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mackey Funeral Home (33 Peel Street, Lindsay) and at Cambridge Street United Church (61 Cambridge Street North, Lindsay, ON) on Friday, November 22nd from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. If desired, a memorial donation to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
