Darla F. Guderian, age 59, of Kranzburg, SD, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Waverly Community Center, Waverly, SD with Father Kenneth Koster officiating. Music will be provided by JoAnn Comes as organist and church choir. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, South Shore, SD. Pallbearers will be Mike Stoltz, Aaron Reule, Matthew Grant, Paul Guderian, Adam Golay and Max Roberts. Darla Francine (Stricherz) Guderian, was born on November 2, 1960 to Darrell and Mary (Ries) Stricherz in Watertown, SD. She grew up in Waverly where she attended school, graduating from Waverly High School in 1979. On May 5, 2009 she married Randall "Randy" Guderian in Watertown, SD. The couple lived in Kranzburg and Darla was employed at Star Laundry in Watertown. Darla will be best remembered for her easy to laugh, always to love nature. She was always willing to listen and talk out any situation. She was a calming force and source of understanding and support for her family. She loved decorating for the holidays and hosting 4th of July celebrations, shopping, chocolate and planting flowers. She also loved sitting at her kitchen table drinking coffee and having long conversations. Darla will be deeply missed by her husband, Randy Guderian of Kranzburg; her children, Meranda Turbak (Mike Stoltz) of St. Paul, MN, Michelle (Matthew) Grant of Watertown, Daniel (Laura) Turbak of Revillo, Lindsay (Aaron) Reule of Rapid City, Ray Turbak (Rebekah Hauber) of Watertown, Ann (Adam) Golay of Sioux Falls, Heather Guderian of Sioux Falls, and Paul Guderian of South Shore; her mother, Mary Stricherz of Waverly; her siblings, Tom (Donna) Stricherz of Waverly, Paulette (Scott) Schmeling of New Ulm, MN, LeaAnn Manke (Bob Benson) of Mitchell, Tad Stricherz (Kathy Minatra) of Waverly and Todd Stricherz of Brookings; a sister-in-law, Lynelle Stricherz of Ignacio, CO; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Paul and Madeline Stricherz, Peter and Bernice Ries; her brothers, Trent, Tim and Terry Stricherz; one nephew and one grand nephew.
