Delois Portis, daughter of the late Louis Portis and Dorothy Prewitt was born on May 31, 1961 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Delois transitioned from this life suddenly on November 16, 2019 in Wilmington, Delaware. “D-Lo” as she was affectionally called by family and friends received her early education in Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware. Delois was a devoted childcare provider to her great nieces, nephews and friend’s children. If you knew her you knew that she was the type of person who would help anybody. She enjoyed cooking and making people laugh. Delois is preceded in death by her father, Louis Portis and her brother, Jackie Louis Portis. In addition to her parents; Delois leaves to cherish her fond memories two daughters, LaShonda and Channeisha Portis (Leroy); son, Johnathan Portis; two sisters, Vicky Portis, Pamela Portis; two brothers, Larry Portis, Louis “Bud Portis” (Tameka); devoted friend, Cecelia Winn; goddaughters, Aniya Pipkins and Amiya Lloyd; one godson, Jovonte “Dooders” Portis; two bonus daughters, Mekia and Sharronda; a close friend, Weasel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
