Elizabeth Rose “Betsy” Trampe was born November 6, 1936, the daughter of Oscar A. and Ruth Martin Trampe of Golconda.  She was educated in Golconda public schools and graduated from Southern Illinois University.  Betsy loved city life and after graduating from college she lived in St. Louis, then Chicago, then in St. Louis again, where she was living at the time of her death on February 26, 2016.  In both cities she worked at various times as a legal secretary and as a medical secretary.  She was a lifetime learner, and devoted herself to learning both by study and by travel.  She is survived by a brother, George Trampe, and a sister-in-law, Lois Dye Trampe, of Firebrick Kentucky.       Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Golconda, IL. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda, IL. The service will be conducted by Pastor Cherrie Wilkerson. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of service at the church.
