Charlotte Martin
West Lebanon – Charlotte L. Martin, 83, passed away at home on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Born in Queens, NY on March 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Charlotte Witek Erfurt. Charlotte and her family moved to this area in 1941 when they moved from Pennsylvania to Nassau. She was educated at Columbia High School and spent much of her time around the family home as a homemaker. She worked as a short order cook at Pat’s Place in West Lebanon, as a bus driver for New Lebanon Central Schools, and as the Director of the summer youth program in New Lebanon since 1985. Charlotte is survived by her two children, Wayne Martin of New Lebanon, NY and Marilyn (Daniel) Lefebvre North Adams, MA, her 7 grandchildren; Wayne Houghtling Jr., Jessica Walden, Angela Saltamartini, Anthony M. Saltamartini, Melissa Flemming, Wayne Martin Jr., and Rachel Martin, her 7 great-grandchildren; Felicity, Sahara, Keegan, Ethan, Connor, Adalie, and Jack, and her half-siblings, Anna and Herbert. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Walter A. Martin, who passed away in 1996, her brothers, Harold and George Erfurt, and her half-brother Karl. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 4 until 7 PM at Hall and Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43, Stephentown, with a funeral service to conclude the evening at 7 PM.March 19, 1936 - November 16, 201903/19/193611/16/2019
