Donald Peryer

Donald J. “Don” Peryer, 84, formerly of West Chazy passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Alice Center in Malone with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 20, 1935 the son of Norman E. and Evelyn (Chamberlain) Peryer, Sr. Don retired as an electrician from Georgia Pacific after forty five years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling to Florida with his wife in their motor home and he was an avid Yankees fan. Don played in the RSVP Kitchen Band. He was a member of the Beekmantown Busy B’s and took many senior trips with them. He was a former member of the West Chazy Fire Department and a member of St. Joseph’s Church, West Chazy. Don was predeceased by his parents, his wife Ruth, a son Randy, his sisters; Shirley Hindes, Phyllis Powers, Mary DeCoste and a son-in-law Michael Higgins. He is survived by two sons; Steven Peryer (Judy) Peryer of Champlain, Barry (Debbie) Peryer of North Bangor, a daughter Sharyl Higgins of Watertown, two brothers; Norman (Beverly) Peryer, Jr. of West Chazy, Louis (Susan) Peryer of West Chazy, seven grandchildren eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, West Chazy. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Chazy. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to the West Chazy Fire Department or the RSVP Kitchen Band.
