Funeral services for Hubert Evan Adams, age 93 of Sikes will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stacey Pitman officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Sikes. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of service. Hubert Evan Adams was born on August 26, 1926 at Sikes, LA to the union of his parents: Joseph Egbert Adams and Myra Ola Johnson Adams and he passed away on November 16, 2019 at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. He was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and a faithful member, deacon and treasurer of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, La Verne Gough in 1949 and they spent seventy years as man and wife. Mrs. Adams preceded him in death earlier this year. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a number of brothers and sisters. Hubert enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He leaves behind his sons: Glen Adams (Pat), David Adams (Jackie), Roy Adams (Ethel) and Donald Adams (Dewanna); grandchildren: Shannon Adams (Amy), Allen Adams (Amie), Kristin Pelham (Matt), Sarah Barbo (Tommy), Matthew Adams, Chris Adams, Melissa Rainbolt (Tommy), Derek Lisenby, Toni Bacon (Danny), and Todd Long (Nickie); his brother, Hollis Adams (Vera) and numerous great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Humphries, Tommy Barbo, Chris Adams, Allen Adams, Larry Humphries, Kenny Cox, Derek Lisenby and Shannon Adams. Matthew Adams will serve as honorary pallbearer.
