Stockton Springs- James Hassapelis, 83, died unexpectedly with loving family by his side on Saturday November 16, 2019, at Waldo County Hospital. He was born May 12, 1936 in Medway, MA the son of Michael and Frances (Basil) Hassapelis. James was a loving family man, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved playing cards with his wife and friends on Saturday evening. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and caring for his blueberry fields. James also loved gardening and animals. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 62 years Alice M. (Seviour) Hassapelis, two sons Jay Hassapelis and wife Heather and Mark Hassapelis and his wife Christina, grandchildren; Kelly Hassapelis, Holly Haskell and husband Nick, David Maguire and Nicolas Maguire, three great grandchildren; Ronan, Gracelynne and Camryn, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by granddaughters; Heather-Jo Hassapelis and Tasha Maguire, one brother John Hassapelis. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
