Richard “Pop” Winston Olive, 77, of Lexington, AL, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 16, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. He was retired from Valero Oil as an operator/maintenance worker and also a manager. He was an ordained deacon, active in his church, loved hunting and fishing, tinkering outside and also being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife: Tena Joy Perdue Olive Son: Richie Olive Daughter: Tammy Springhart Brothers: Jessie, Robert & Danny Olive Sister: Brenda Holden Grandchildren: Trey Olive, Colt Springhart, Kemper Olive, Joy Springhart, Laci Olive, Emma Springhart, Luke Springhart, Layla Springhart, Sydney Olive, Ellie Olive, Ella Springhart & Carlena Southerland Great grandchildren: Keegan Springhart, Ezra Olive & NoraLee Springhart Preceded in death by: Parents: Herschel Edward & Fannie Corene Olive Daughters: Darlene & Corene Olive Brother: Herschel Edward Olive, Jr. Sisters: Frances Stutts, Shirley Olive & Glenda Olive Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 21, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 in the funeral home chapel with Mike Nabors & Dino Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Railroad Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Trey Olive, Colt Springhart, Kemper Olive, Luke Springhart, Jason Springhart & Joshua Brewer. Honorary pallbearer: Terry Holden In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital & the American Heart Association. If you decide to send flowers: no white flowers please. The family would like to thank Dr. Lango & the nursing staff at NAMC for their compassion & care.
