Heaven’s band gained a new member in the ukulele section with the passing of Laura Eugenia Donaldson Ashcraft, 88, of McGehee, AR on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Laura was born in Boydell, AR a daughter of the late Walter Hoover and Margaret Carpenter Hoover. She worked for AP&L now Entergy Corporation for over twenty years. She was an active member at First Baptist Church of McGehee where she played in the ukulele band for many years. Laura was a world traveler and an avid Razorback fan. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and jig saw puzzles. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Laura loved her family. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband R.N. “Shorty” Donaldson, Jr.; sisters, Lila Mae Pamplin and Annie Mac Dablock; brothers, George Hoover and James Pamplin. Survivors include her husband, Leonard Ashcraft of McGehee, AR; daughter, Linda Donaldson of Benton, AR; sons, Gary (Kathy) Donaldson, Ronnie (Vicki) Donaldson and Michael Donaldson all of Crossett, AR; grandchildren, Melanie Francis, Emily Turner, Stacy Donaldson, Laurie Donaldson, Jeremy Andrews and Tiffany Hall; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-greatgrandchild. Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday, November 18, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee, AR. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Dermott Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Allen and Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow at Dermott Cemetery.
