Floyd Jones

Floyd Jones, age 73 of St. Cloud, FL and originally of Franklin County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Floyd was born on March 30, 1946 in Cowan, Tennessee to the late Festus Robertson and Ottie Mae (Mahaffey) Jones. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was awarded two Purple Hearts. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, especially ones that featured John Wayne, hobby racing cars and rebuilding and showing antique cars. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Jo Mead and Mary Thomann. Floyd is survived by his wife, Rebecca Jean Jones of Florida; children, Kim (Kris) Spaniol of Yorkville, IL, Lisa (Paul ) Hahney of Schererville, IL, Nick (Mellisa) Jones of St. Cloud, FL and Tim (Laura) King of St, Cloud, FL; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Glenda Faye (Jimmy) Jackson of Decherd, Lloyd (Linda) Jones of Athens, TN, Marie Matthews of Paolie, IN, Helen Curtis of Winchester and Ruby (John) Gutierrez of Gary, IN; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10:00am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Houston officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
