Donald Lloyd Hays Jr.

A Boston resident, Mr. Donald Lloyd Hays, Jr., age 70, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1949 in Flint Michigan to the late Clara Marie Williams and Donald Lloyd Hays, Sr., Donald was a retired employee of General Electric where he was a Maintenance Machinist, Millwright, and Electrician, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a former professor of Industrial Hydraulics at GE and UL, and was the operator of Broken Arrow Band in the 80’s and was the operator of the Marion County Rock Festival in the 70’s. Donald was an honest, interesting, charitable, and inspirational Godly man, and was a firm practitioner of chivalry. He loved the outdoors, the land, and animals. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carmen Gnadinger Hays, his daughter, Stephanie Lynn (Timothy) O’Brien of Shepherdsville, 2 sisters, Kathy Hays of Shepherdsville and Joy (Gary) Herb of Louisville, as well as 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Donald’s family followed his wishes of cremation. There will be no public services. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
