Layton Glen Barwick

Layton Glen Barwick, Mount Olive resident, passed away at home early Saturday morning, November 16,2019. He was 72. Glen was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired heating and air conditioning installer and serviceman, and had also been a truckdriver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Norma Grey Ezzell Barwick; a brother, David Barwick; and a sister, Grady Sheryl B. Newcomb. Those who survive Glen include his wife, Tamela L. Barwick; five children, Keesha Kast (David) of Kure Beach, Allen Barwick (Tracey) of Carlsbad, NM, Tonya Hudson of Mount Olive, Tommy Hudson (Shannon) of Maurice, La., and Rayanna Patin of Mount Olive; a sister, Barbara Carol B. Morris (Edward) of Toano, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Barwick of Rocky Mount; and ten grandchildren, Cora, Allena, Carmen, Christina, Lilly, Landon, Logan, Legend, Madison, and Tori. Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, November 22, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial following in the Smith Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is the wishes of the family that memorial gifts be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
