LANDRY, Mary Rita 99 - of Arichat - It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grand-mother on November 16, 2019, at her residence in St. Ann Centre with her loving family by her side. Born April 12, 1920, she was a daughter to the late Jimmy and Clemence (Marchand) Samson.


Rita was a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Petit de Grat, she was also a member of St. Joseph’s Parish C.W.L for 66 years, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 150 and the New Horizon’s Seniors Club. She was the best Mom that we could ever have ask for always caring for us. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May you rest in peace.


She is survived by daughters Ann (Richard) Acton, New Glasgow, Claudette (Frank) Carmichael, Fall River; sons, Armand (Margaret Ann), Arichat, Adrian (Janet), Hammonds Plains, Thomas, Arichat, Guy (Jennie), Petit de Grat; grandchildren Laurie, Pamela, Garron, Jason, Nathan, Matthew, Jeffrey, Noah, Logan, Brittney, Jessica, Evie, and Heidi; great-grandchildren Courtney, Chloe, Renee, Michelle, Austin, Avah, Baily, Jaxson, Hudson, Autumn, Xavier, Leo and Charlotte.


Rita is the last surviving member of her immediate family.


She was predeceased by her husband Charles James Landry; son Luke; daughter Donna; brothers Nazaire, Norman, Jean; sisters Lorraine, Claudia, Jeanne Darc; daughter-in-law Nora Landry.


Visitation will take place in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Friday, November 22nd from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Rita will take place St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Petit de Grat on Saturday, November 23rd at 11 am with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial will take place in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. A reception will take place following the committal at St. Joseph's Parish Hall in Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Ann Centre Activity Fund or to the Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund.
