Carole Richter Devers, 86, of Denver Colorado, passed away on November 4, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. Carole was born in Houston, Texas to Hugh and Frankie Richter on October 21, 1933. She attended Wheatley High School and graduated in 1950. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Talladega College, in Talladega Alabama. She worked as a school teacher in the Cherry Creek School District and Westminster School District #50 for over 25 years. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, playing bridge, singing in various choirs, hosting the neighborhood Christmas caroling event, and the Lord's Supper dinner in recognition of Christ's resurrection. She was involved in Jack and Jill, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Denver Chapter of Links, Inc. Carole is survived by her husband Shedrick, children Reggie, Yvette, and Derrick, her sister Betty and brother-in-law Paul, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is preceded by her daughter Lydia Ann, sisters Huella, Evelyn, and Gloria and her parents Hugh and Frankie Richter. Funeral service will be held at Christ Community Church, 8085 E. Hampden Denver, Co 80231, on Friday November 15, 2019 at 11:00. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S. Quebec Street, Denver, CO. 80247. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 at Caldwell Kirk Mortuary, 2101 N. Marion, Denver Co, 80205.
