Lee Edgar Ruxer, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Braun's Nursing Home. Lee was born in St. Meinrad, Indiana on January 19, 1928, to the late Frank and Aurelia (Becher) Ruxer. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving one year in the Philippines during WWII. Lee was owner of Ruxer Cabinet Shop for 13 years before starting Ruxer Contracting with his son, Dan in 1973, working until retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post #1114, was of the catholic faith and a past member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Lee is survived by his son, Dan Ruxer and his daughter, Nita Ruxer both of Evansville, IN; and a sister, Ann Volz of Evansville, IN. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella "Sally" (Waldhier) Ruxer; a daughter, Sherry Ruxer; and siblings, Katherine Sergesketter, Genevieve Volz and Charles Ruxer. A celebration of Lee's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association, 971 S. Kenmore Dr. C, Evansville, IN 47714.
