Our beloved Alfred Cortez Garcia, age 62, of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 9, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Garcia, Sr. and Julia Garcia and his sisters, Mary Jane Childress and Virginia Ruiz. Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Rosemarie Garcia; his daughter, Jennifer Garcia and two beloved grandsons, Julius and Jacob Rodriguez. He is also survived by his brothers Edward Garcia, Jr. and his wife, Rosa; Ernest Garcia and his wife, Janie; Jessie Garcia and his wife, Mary; Richard Garcia and his wife, Olivia; Frank Garcia and his wife, Linda; Alex Garcia and his wife, Dora, and Louie Garcia and Kerry; his sisters Julie Acevedo and Dolores Marciel and her husband, Lorenzo, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Alfred loved classic cars and car shows, playing Loteria, dominos, washers, and watching wrestling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Alfred was dearly loved by his family and friends and his presence will be greatly missed by all. Honored Pallbearers will be Louie Garcia, Robert Aleman, Daniel Trevino, Alex Garcia, David Aros, Zachary Zapata, Armando Ybarra and Alex Lugo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Edward Garcia, Jr., Ernest Garcia, Richard Garcia, Jessie Garcia, and Frank Garcia. The Family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Rene Castillo, the nurses and other staff at Texas Oncology and Kindred Hospice for their dedication in providing excellent care and support to us through this very difficult time. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., with Celebration of Life beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. A Scripture Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
