Leslie Lynn Woolard

Leslie Lynn Woolard, 61, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer, on November 9, 2019 at home, surrounded by her family. Born August 19, 1958 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Beverley (Shirley) Long. She was also preceded in death by a nephew, Corey Broadwater. Leslie was a 1976 graduate of Fort Ashby High School. She earned her A.A. degree from Potomac State College. Leslie had worked as a medical secretary and transcriptionist for Dr. Robert Carpenter. She had attended Berean Independent Baptist Church. Leslie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Timothy; daughter, Ashley Karge and husband Richard, II; grandchildren, Breanna Karge and Richard Karge, III; siblings, Glenda Broadwater and husband Don, Kenneth Long and wife Stephanie, and Wendi Browning and husband Shane; and, nieces and nephews, Candi and husband Michael, Colby, Blake and wife Jackie, and Austin and fiancé Brooke. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home, with Pastor Kris Lengel, officiating. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilda Radner Familial Ovarian Cancer Registry, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Sts., Buffalo, NY 14263. The family would like to thank Potomac Valley Hospice and nurses Jennifer and Marsha for their kind, compassionate care.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Leslie for awhile doing transcription. She was always pleasant to work with and I enjoyed talking with her, such a nice lady.
