RUBY LEE CHILDRESS COLEMAN STREET, 92 years of age of Rosedale, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 after a short illness. Born November 28, 1926, in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Owens Childress and James Richmond Childress. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her loving family and extended families. She loved to cook and her favorite dish was chicken and dumplings that everyone enjoyed. She loved to grow a vegetable garden and canning the vegetables. Most of all she loved going to church. She was a member of the Dry Fork Primitive Baptist Church. She was one of the charter members and belonged to the church for 58-years. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Julius Street having been married 62-years; 2-Loving Sons: Denny Ferl Coleman and Ronald Douglas Coleman; 1-Granddaughter: Tracy Sprinkle and 1-Great-Grandson: Michael Hyatt; Brothers & Sisters: John Garland Childress, James Childress Jr., Jessie Childress, Emma Childress Deel, Chloa Childress Robinette Brown; Half-Brothers & Sisters: William Lundy Childress, Stanford Childress, Arthur Childress, Charlie W. Childress and Hettie Childress Horton. Those left to cherish her memory include sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Michael (Betty) Street of Pounding Mill, VA, Randall (Pat) Street of Pounding Mill, VA, Donna Coleman of Richlands, VA, Susan Coleman of Vansant, VA; Grandchildren: Andrea (Dale) Clark of Salem, VA, Ronald Douglas (Tonya) Coleman Jr. of Gray, TN, Johnny (Rene) Street Jr. of Sacramento, CA, Jennifer Hyatt of Pounding Mill, VA; 11-Great-Grandchildren and 2-Great-Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Ellis Floyd Childress of Prater, VA. Funeral Services for RUBY LEE CHILDRESS COLEMAN STREET will be conducted Monday, November 11, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: Sean Dotson, Jeff Dotson, Brian Moore, Jimmy Lee Smith and Vester Runyon officiating with burial to follow in the Baldwin Mountain Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
