Bill Everly Camdenton, Missouri Obituary

Bill Everly

Charles William “Bill” Everly, age 89, went home to his Heavenly Father, Thursday, November 7, 2019. He was reunited with his beloved daughter, Felicia, and sister, Helen, both of whom he missed terribly. Bill was born in Jameson, Missouri, the son of William Forest Everly and Alma Bridget (Martin) Everly. Early on, his friends and family called him “Billy”, as a means to differentiate him from all the other “William” namesakes in the family. Old acquaintances still know him as Billy to this day. Bill married the love of his life, Phyllis, in 1950, and they established their home in northern Missouri. He served in the US Army attached to the Air Force (joint forces) at that time and traveled extensively. He served in combat during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after 9 years of service. Following his military service, Bill began his lifelong career in the Insurance business, where his positive outlook and people loving personality were evident. He retired as President of the Lewer Insurance Agency in Kansas City after 30 plus years of service to the company. Bill and Phyllis relocated to Lake of the Ozarks in 1983 where they made their home, along with many friends and acquaintances. Never one to be idle, Bill sold real estate in the lake area for several years before his full retirement from work. Bill enjoyed hunting, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He and Phyllis joined First Baptist Church of Camdenton where he served as a deacon for several years. Bill was a “man of many quotes”, and for those who knew him well, he had a special quote for each one of them. His bigger-than-life personality will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his daughter Elizabeth Kay Fleishman and husband, Christopher Ray, of Willard, Missouri and his son, Andy William Everly of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michael Mueller, Lindsey Mueller, and William Buster Samuel McKeehan; and one great grandson, River Zane Mueller. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Felicia Darlene Everly; and his sister Helen Clements. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2019 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 11:30-1:00 prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hedges Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Camdenton, Building Fund.
