C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Larry (Laurent) Vieno, décédé le 8 novembre à l'âge de 60 ans. Un mari bien-aimé, père, grand-père et ami, il nous manquera. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Sylvie, ses enfants Jennifer et Cory (Céline) et ses petits-enfants Maxime, Madeleine et William. Il est précédé dans la tombe par sa mère Jean, son père Martin et son frère Henry. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs Cécile Leblanc, Rose Demers (Fern), Agnès Hébert (Pierre), Daniel Vieno (Hélene). Il a également été beau-frère de Shirley Flick (Jim), Linda Savage (Wayne), Larry Martel (Darlene), Connie Goulet (John), Judy Piché (Jean-Charles) et gendre de Janine Proulx (Albert). Il était aussi l'oncle de plusieurs nièces et neveux. Il est évident que la musique était une passion pour Larry. Bassiste talentueux qui a appris la musique à l'oreille, il a fait partie de plusieurs groupes musicales dont Roadside, Northwind, Arquet et Sudden Impact. Il a aussi joué des années avec le Timmins All Star Big Band. Larry est affectueusement rappelé pour son visage souriant, tellement que plusieurs l'appelaient Smiley. Une célébration de la vie de Larry aura lieu le mardi 12 novembre de 18h à 21h au Dante Club. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry (Laurent) Vieno, who passed away November 8th at the young age of 60. A caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend he will be missed. He is survived by his wife Sylvie, children Jennifer and Cory (Celine) and grandchildren Maxime, Madeleine and William. He is predeceased by his mother Jean, father Martin and brother Henry. He is also survived by his siblings Cecile Leblanc, Rose Demers (Fern), Agnès Hebert (Pierre), Daniel Vieno (Hélene). He was also brother-in-law to Shirley Flick (Jim), Linda Savage (Wayne), Larry Martel (Darlene), Connie Goulet (John), and Judy Piché (Jean-Charles) and son-in-law to Janine Proulx (Albert). He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews. It is obvious that music was a passion as Larry lit up while on stage. A talented bassist who learned music by ear he was part of several bands including Roadside, Northwind, Arquet and Sudden Impact (with Sylvie on vocals) then years playing with the Timmins All Star Big Band. Larry is fondly remembered for his smiling face, with many calling him Smiley, his positive attitude and desire to make others laugh. Please join us for a celebration of a life well lived, remember the happy times and raise a glass with cheer to celebrate in Larry's honour on Tues. Nov 12 from 6 to 9pm at the Dante Club.
