Bobby Winstead

Mr. Bob Winstead, age 88, of Blooming Grove passed away at his home on Saturday, November 9, 2019. He was born on August, 5, 1931 in Marquez, Texas to S. E. Winstead and Anna Belle Winstead. Bob spent 38 years working for Central Freight Trucking and received the safety award for no accidents the whole time he worked. He was a Sgt. in the U. S Army and was honorably discharged in April of 1952. He was married to his wife, Lena Mae McGraw Winstead for over 64 years. Together they reared three children. Bob loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He spent hours in his work shed fixing everything. He never had anyone fix anything for him because “He could do it all”. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Pauline Easterling and Samuel E. Winstead, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Lena Winstead; his children; Kay Boswell and husband, David, Kim Crow and her husband, Jim and Bobby Winstead and his wife, Susan. He is also survived by his grandchildren; David Boswell, Daniel Boswell, Kyle Moore, Michael Winstead and Sammy Winstead; his great grandchildren; Will Boswell, Riley Boswell, Bailey Boswell, Weston Loy Boswell, Ava Kay Boswell, Madeleine May Boswell, Kayla Dollard and Jeslyn Winstead; and one great great-grandchild; Xaiden Dollard. Bob is also survived by his sisters; Sue Brown and Mary Reagan and husband, Louie. Bob’s gentleness will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Blooming Grove with funeral services immediately following with Rev. Kevin Diggs officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be David Boswell, Bobby Winstead, David Boswell, Jr., Kyle Moore, Michael Winstead and Will Boswell. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove, Texas. Memorials may be made to Sewing Sisters of Texas, P.O.
