Sue Evie (Mercer) Swonder, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Sue was born in Dothan, Alabama on January 8, 1940 to the late Grady and Maude (Herrell) Mercer. She graduated from North High School in 1959 and retired from Old National Bank after many years of service. Sue was a past member of Albright Church and a member of the Owls Club. She will be dearly missed. Sue is survived by her daughter, Lori Swonder of Evansville, IN; her granddaughter, Peyton Ruttinger (Fred) of Newburgh, IN; and great grandchildren, Emma, Greyson and Quillyn; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard Keith Swonder; her daughter, Hollie Swonder; her parents; and siblings, Frankie Clodfetter, Gene Mercer, Joe Mercer, Herrell Mercer and Bobby Mercer. Private services will be held at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 followed by entombment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for final expenses.
