Maureen Patricia Dorsey

Bel Air—Maureen P. Dorsey, 85, of Bel Air, Cumberland, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in London, England, on June 17, 1934, she was the daughter of James and Ellen (O’Reilly) Fitzpatrick. In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Griffith, and her brother, Paddy Fitzpatrick. Maureen attended school in London and earned her diploma in England. She was employed in the Anesthesia Department at Sacred Heart Hospital, and retired from that position. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Our Lady of The Mountains Parish, and Maureen volunteered in the Hospice Program at Sacred Heart. Maureen is survived by her husband 59 years, Owen Martin Dorrsey; children James P. Dorsey and wife Susan of Broomfield, CO, Ann Marie Coleman, Cumberland, David O. Dorsey and wife Kim, Towson, and J. Kevin Dorsey, Canton, OH; grandchildren, Kacey M. Pouliot and husband Chris, Baltimore, MD, Christopher T. J. Dorsey, Denver, CO. Sofia S. Dorsey, Canton, OH, Michael O. Dorsey, Towson, MD, and Owen P. Dorsey, Canton, OH.; daughter-in-law, Rosa S. Dorsey, Canton, OH; sister, Lilly Bourne, London, England. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown from 4-7 P.M. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11 A.M. At Maureen’s request, she will be cremated an Inurnment Service will be conducted at St. Ambrose Cemetery on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 10 A.M. In lieu of sending flowers, those wishing to honor Maureen’s memory may do so by making contributions to the Schwab Cancer Center at the Western Maryland Health Center.
