Carolyn Howerton Foushee

Carolyn Howerton Foushee, 84, of 1860 Flat River Church Road, died Friday, November 8, 2019 surrounded by her three daughters. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Lucy and Carol Howerton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Reade Foushee, and one daughter, Amy Evans. Carolyn embodied a hospitable spirit and served others with friendliness and warmth. She worked at Central Carolina Bank on Main Street for almost forty years and enjoyed connecting with people across the community of Roxboro. A committed member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Carolyn played an integral role in hosting the annual Brunswick Stews and Homecoming celebrations. She led a life of deep faith in Christ and cherished her fellow Sunday school members. Carolyn loved her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, and she found great joy in sharing an afternoon visit, tasty meal, or day-long shopping trip with her loved ones. She was devoted to her grandchildren and celebrated them often. They are grateful for her keen interest in their lives and will remember her for her beauty, grace, and unparalleled style. Surviving are her six daughters: Connie Bowes and husband, Carl; Denise Wrenn; Felicia Allen and husband, Phillip; Joy Winstead and husband, David; Luanne Smith and husband, Ricky; Penny Stewart and husband, John; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her life-long friends, Danny and Jane Morris; one brother, Huel Howerton, of Roxboro; three sisters, Catherine H. Anderson and Sandra H. Bowes, both of Roxboro and Rosa Dale H. Whitlow, of Alton, VA. Visitation will be held from 12-1PM Monday, November 11, 2019 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home of Phillip and Felicia Allen, 213 Crestwood Dr., Roxboro. Funeral service will be 1PM Monday, November 11, 2019 at Mt.
