Mrs. Betty Lou (Pepple) Rook, 66, of Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, died Friday, November 8, 2019, at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Chambersburg. Born May 23, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald E. Pepple, Sr. and Margaret L. (Tosten) Stephens. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Betty was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She and her husband, the late Ronald E. Rook, were married on October 14, 1977 in Hagerstown. Mr. Rook died on October 31, 2003. In her early life, Betty worked as a waitress at Ye Olde Grill, Waynesboro. She later worked as the head cook at the Waynesboro Hospital for over 30 years. She loved to be outside gardening, working on crafts, and painting. She is survived by her siblings, Teresa Benedict, John Pepple, George Pepple, Donna Pepple, Cindy Smith, and Donald Pepple, Jr.; her step-daughter, Rhonda DaSilva and her husband, Luis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 14, 2019, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Eugene Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday morning, in the funeral home.
