Isabel A. Wangen

Isabel Ann Wangen, 97, of Owatonna, died Friday, November 8, 2019 at Mill City Senior Living, Faribault. She was born January 6, 1922 in New Richland the daughter of Peter and Anna Marie (Langlie) Jacobson. Isabel attended country school near New Richland. She married Ingbert Wangen September 20, 1942 at Le Seuer River Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Owatonna. Isabel worked at Protecto, the chicken hatchery, cleaning houses and restaurants and at Hy Vee handing out samples. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Isabel made lefse for Lutefisk dinners and local bakeries. She enjoyed having coffee with her friends, she loved dressing up, listening to music, cleaning her house and was an awesome cook. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Wilson of Owatonna; granddaughter, Cindy (and Mike) Muldoon of Owatonna; grandson, Shannon (and Jean) Wilson of Owatonna; great grandchildren, Jeremy (and Ashlee), Brianna (and Nick) and Ryan Wilson, Joshua and Zachary Vogt; great great grandchildren, Jacob and Thea Wilson, Ava Wickham; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Ingbert Wangen, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at Mill City Senior Living and Moments Hospice. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
