Creelman MacArthur Obituary

Age 81, of Windsor, passed away peacefully, on Friday, November 8, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 22, 1938 in Summerside, P.E.I., he was the only son of the late Senator Creelman and Muriel (Lee) MacArthur. Creel received his early education in Summerside before attending Horton Academy and Mount Allison University. He then embarked upon a highly successful career in business as a restauranteur, business owner and commercial realtor. He was a proud and passionate Canadian. He had a keen interest in all things political, lover of the arts and a lifelong and diehard Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. Creel loved to travel, starting at an early age with a train trip to California with his mother and continuing throughout his life. One of his proudest moments was to be in Moscow in 1972 to witness Paul Henderson score the winning goal in the Canada-Russia Summit Series. Creel is survived by his wife, Ann (Trueman); former wife and mother of his children, Joyce “Joy” MacArthur; daughter, Robyn; son, Ian (Anita); stepson, Shawn Fultz (Maja Kasdan); stepdaughter, Wendy (Mark) Spowart; grandchildren, Charlotte and Malcolm Nettie, Campbell, Ava and Hayden MacArthur; step-grandchildren, Joshua Fultz-Veinotte, Willow and Sequoi Kasdan-Fultz and Ewan Spowart. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by half-sisters, Lois (in infancy), Adele, Constance, Dorothy and Marion. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 13. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 14 at 2 p.m., in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. David Hann officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Windsor United Church Annex. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Creel may be made to the Windsor Hockey Heritage Museum, PO Box 430, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one’s choice.
