Stephen Fraser Rochester, New York Obituary

Stephen Fraser

Stephen Daniel Fraser, 67 passed on 11/8/19 peacefully at aurora House of Western Monroe County with his son by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born on July 8, 1952 to Wallace and Lorraine Young in Oneida, NY. He graduated from Morrisville Eaton Central School. After graduation, he lived in Florida for a year and then moved to Rochester, NY. He worked at Getinge for 35 years, starting at the bottom and working his way to the top. He enjoyed his job and everyone he worked with. Steve was a great cook. He loved his home and keeping his yard immaculate. He loved fishing and training his grandpup Riley. He loved the Yankees, Syracuse basketball, football and the Buffalo Bills. One of his biggest pleasures was friendly betting. When he lost, he always said the game was fixed. But that never deterred him from making his next wager. Anyone who met Steve, knew he lived his life to the absolute fullest. Steve always had a story to tell. He was a lot of fun and loved by all. Steve always enjoyed making people laugh. He always said, just like a cat, he had 9 lives, but we think he only used 7. After retirement, he loved going to coffee "with the boys" every morning to solve all the world's problems. He enjoyed visiting his sister in Florida, sitting by the pool and talking to anyone there who would listen. Steve was predeceased by his mother Lorraine Young, his fathers, Wallace Fraser and Russell Young and his brother Gerald Fraser. He is survived by his son and best friend, Christopher Fraser, Christopher's sister, Angela Whitaker, his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Doug Chesser in Punta Gorda Florida, his niece and husband, Ginger and Fred Volpe with great nephews, Connor and Spencer Volpe in Cape Coral Florida, and his nephew Geoffrey Chesser in Clemson, South Carolina. He also leaves behind some very dear friends, Rena and John Verbridge, Jimmy Morse and Nory Falone. Friends may call Sunday 1-3 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to Aurora House, 2495 S. Union St., Spencerport, NY 14559.
