Anton J. “Tony” Kaiser

Anton J. “Tony” Kaiser, 90, of Hamilton Square, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. Tony was born on May 6, 1929 in College Point, Queens, NY, where he resided for the early years of his life. It was in grammar school that he first met the love of his life, Mildred M. “Mim” Muldoon while she was taking voice lessons and he was learning to play the accordion. He attended Bishop Loughlin High School while Mim attended St. Agnes School and they began dating. Tony and Mim were married in 1950 at the age of 21; the date of their wedding was moved up by about a month due to Tony’s service in the Army National Guard. Soon thereafter Tony received his law degree from St. John’s University They moved to Bethpage, NY in 1954 where they raised their family and remained until 2007 when they moved to Hamilton Square. While living in Bethpage, Tony worked with a title insurance company for several years before joining Franklin National Bank's Commercial Mortgage Division. He was instrumental in helping businesses obtain mortgages for the benefit of building Bethpage and other Long Island communities. After many years with Franklin National, Tony began his private law practice serving the European American Bank until his retirement in the late 1980’s. Tony was a lifetime member of Kiwanis International, an internationally renowned community service organization, where he served as the International President from 1987-1988. He traveled the world with “Mim”, together visiting countries worldwide that benefitted from the important work of Kiwanis International. Due to his passion for community service work with Kiwanis, Tony realized that Long Island needed a trauma center for children and then worked tirelessly to make it a reality. Just one example of the many projects and the impact of Tony’s work with Kiwanis was in 1991, the New York District of Kiwanis International and its Foundation formed an alliance with the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island, to create the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one of its kind in the region. Predeceased by his parents, Anton and Anna (Schaudenecker) Kaiser and his brother, John M. Kaiser; he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred M. “Mim” (Muldoon) Kaiser; his sons and their spouses, Eric J. and Kim B. Kaiser of Long Valley, NJ, John A. and Ginger Kaiser of West Windsor, and David W. and Nadine D. Kaiser of Hamilton Square; his seven grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. David the King R.C. Church, 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ. Private interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at St. David the King R.C. Church, 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to Kiwanis International Foundation or Kamp Kiwanis, New York District by visiting In Memory Of at <a href="http://inmemof.org/anton-j-tony-kaiser">inmemof.org.</a> Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
