Henry C. Goode Obituary

Henry Cornelious Goode, affectionately known as Neally, was born January 25, 1933 in Richmond, Virginia to Parents Rosa and Lucian R. Goode Sr. Neally was raised in Richmond's West End. At an early age he attended Sunday school and church services at Fifth Baptist Church under Rev. Anderson. He was also a member of the boy scouts. As a teenager he joined Mount Vernon Baptist Church under Rev. Taylor. Neally attended Maggie L. Walker High School where he was a proud member of the Cadet Corp. He graduated in 1950. Spending years in the Air Force, Neally was stationed in Korea and Japan. Upon returning to the states, he was stationed at Lowry Airbase in Denver, Colorado. He loved Denver and made it his home. Neally meat and married Ida Mae Goode. He later had two children and five grandchildren. In the 1960's Neally started working for the City and County of Denver as a truck driver. He retired in 1988. Neally was a member of St. Stephen Baptist Church in Denver and served as a member of the usher board under Rev. Randolph C. West Jr., Pastor. Neally was a loving and kind man. He was devilishly handsome, charismatic and social. Neally loved to travel back home to Richmond often. Neally was proceeded in death by: his parents; sisters Mary Ann Frazier and Alberta G. Lomax; brothers Charlie Goode and James E. Goode; nieces Belinda J. Duncan and Sheila D. Burton and nephew Henry J. Dennis. He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted brother Lucian R. Goode Jr, devoted sister in law Mary E. Goode; Step-sisters, Jacqueline M. Allen and Faith L.Goode; nieces, Rosa E. Rustin and Yvette M. Goode; nephew William G. Lomax Jr.;great nieces, Tonya M. Duncan, Cheryl C. Smith, Jervette M. Hill and Alexis T. Caddick; great nephews, Jerron A. Dennis and Karif A. Fox and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be laid to rest by his beloved sisters.
