Funeral Services for Amanda Tiemann, 86, a longtime Hereford resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery under the supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Tiemann passed away Monday, November 4, 2019. Amanda Ruth Brockopp was born November 13, 1932 in Regina, Saskatchwan, Canada to Walter A. and Margaret Christina (Werth) Brockopp. She was raised in Canada and graduated High School one year early, in Sykeston, North Dakota, in 1949. She attended St. John’s Lutheran College in Winfield, Kansas, and married Reverend Reinhold Dierks in 1953 in Sykeston, North Dakota and lived several place throughout the Midwest They had five daughters before divorcing in 1964. She later married Melvin Tiemann in 1968 in Nauvoo, IL and had two more children, before divorcing in 1976. After moving to Hereford in 1969, she was involved in several employment opportunities including owning and operating a commercial janitorial service, owning a water bed store and a carpet cleaning business, worked for Arrowhead Mills, and drove a school bus for several years for Hereford Independent School District. She later returned to college and earned her Bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University at the age of 60. Amanda taught school on a Navajo Indian Reservation in Crown Point, New Mexico from 1995 until 2005. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Tiemann is survived by two siblings, Judy (&Gordon) Eley of Denver, CO, Paul (& Roxie) Brockopp of Parker, CO; four daughters, Diane Tiemann of Sandy, UT, Debra Nelson of Parowan, UT, Joan (&Ken) Brown of Amarillo, Melanie (& Cliff) Briggs of Amarillo, and one son, David (&Sandy) Tiemann of Hereford, TX; as well as sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Daynes and Amy Tiemann, and two brothers, David Brockopp and Alan Brockopp, and one granddaughter The family suggests memorials in Amanda Tiemann's name be made to The Christmas Stocking Fund of Hereford, Texas.
