GORSALITZ, Delmar John – of Birch Run, age 93, died Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, November 8, 2019, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Jim Chinery officiating. The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 2:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Relief Fund of the Gordon R Bennett VFW Post # 1452. Delmar was born March 7, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to the late Oscar and Marie (Schallhorn) Gorsalitz. He grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1943. He served his country in the US Army during WW II from 1944 to 1946. On October 18, 1975 he married Ingeborg Stockhaus in Clio, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Delmar was a Station Manager for Conlee Oil Company with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Vienna Lodge #205 F&AM, Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post # 1452 and the Clio American Legion Post # 158. Delmar had an inquisitive nature, always full of questions and eager to learn about electronics and technology. He even had a facebook page where he accidently posted selfies trying to figure out how this “online stuff’ worked. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Surviving are: Wife, Ingeborg; Children, Gary (Kristine) Gorsalitz, Brigitte Thrall, Lynn (Richard) Pidcock, Steve (Julie) Gorsalitz, Robert (Sam) Siebecker; 12 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister, Arlene (Ray) Parlberg; several nieces and nephews.
