Barbara Louise Moran

Barbara Louise Moran, age 82 of Berkley and formerly of Mount Pleasant, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at home. She was born February 24, 1937 to Charles and Gertrude Moran. She grew up in Dearborn and had endless wonderful memories of her youth, particularly of Camp Dearborn. Barbara lived a full and fantastic life. She coached baseball, she managed bars. She made a mean martini, played pinochle like a pro and has more bowling awards than you can imagine. She had a zest for life and loved to travel with her life long, dearest friend Annie. She helped to raise Annie’s daughter, Denise (Patrick). They have both predeceased her, along with her parents and siblings, Bonnie Hoffmann, Linda Wolfe, Kathleen Andrus, and Charlie Moran Jr. She is survived by her brother Norman, Annie’s grandchildren Christine (Zack), Erin (Gabe), Connor, and Hannah as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In her golden years she loved her home up north, boating on the lake, feeding the deer, gardening and cooking with Annie. She attended church, chatted with anyone who looked like they could use a friend, and never missed a Tiger’s or Red Wing’s game if she could help it. To say she will be dearly missed is a great understatement. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Scripture Service at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (two blocks west of Woodward Avenue). Ms. Moran will lie in state Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church, 2600 Harvard Road (1/2 Mile north of 11 Mile Road at Coolidge Highway). A procession to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield will immediate follow Mass. Memorial Contributions would be appreciated to Wounded Warriors P.O.
