Wilmer T. Burrows, 93 born September 17, 1922 of Catasauqua died Saturday April 16, 2016, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown, He was the husband of the late Lucretia (Pat) Burrows. He was retired from Bethlehem Contracting Company, Bath, PA after over 25 years of service. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of Samuel C. Burrows and Louisa A. (Dougherty) Burrows. He served in the US Navy during WWII onboard the Landing Craft Tank 540 which was part of the 4th wave onto Omaha Beach in the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Catasauqua, and served the Catasauqua Fire Department for over 50 years. Survivors: Sons Samuel (Linda) and Forrest (Susan) Burrows of Catasauqua and James (Jeanette) of Dublin, VA. Daughter Carol (Ralph) Sadowski of Bethlehem Township, PA. Grandchildren Shawn Burrows, Michele Burrows (Joseph) Gmitter, Sheila Sadowski (Timothy) Wolfinger, David (Catherine) Burrows and Timothy Burrows. Great Grandchildren Isabella, Aidan, Katelyn Gmitter, Reese, Lena Wolfinger, Margaret, Madelyn Burrows. He was preceded in death by his brother Carl Burrows and sister Matilda (Burrows) Sperlbaum. Services: 11:00am Wednesday April 20th at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. His viewing will be 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday in the funeral home.
