Fairfield, Maine- Carolyn May Lane, 73, passed away April 15, 2016 peacefully at Maine General Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Mexico, Maine on July 6, 1942, the daughter of the late Carroll and Evelyn (Kilbreth) Akers, later raised by Philip and Lucienne Welch her foster Parents. Carolyn graduated from Dixfield High School in 1961and also accomplished an associate’s degree at age of 60 from KVCC. Carolyn worked several different jobs such as a full time homemaker, factory worker, office worker, and she also worked the family chicken farm. Carolyn was an active church member and loved to play piano and sing for the Lord. She lived a Godly life and made God the center of all her decisions. She had a beautiful gift of sewing to show her love for her family and a beautiful talent of music and cooking. Carolyn loved her family with all her heart and showed hospitality to every one she came in contact with. She always put others first before herself. Carolyn was predeceased by both of her parents; her brother Richard Akers; sister Gloria Duval; and also her great grandchildren Joshua Taylor and Braydon Norman. She is survived by her husband Leslie Lane; her children Erwin Taylor Jr. and fiancé Diane Morissette, Robert Taylor, Shelly Geidel and husband Lance, Kelly Jeremie and husband Daniel, Phillip Taylor and wife Martha, Sheldon Lane and Ryan Lane her grandson whom she raised like a son; her former husband Erwin Taylor Sr.; her siblings Mary Learned, Jessie Shelkis, Roger, Carroll Jr and William Akers; her grandchildren Seth, Jacob, Isaiah and Michael Taylor, Cassandra Norman and fiancé Chris McLaughlin, Bradley Norman and fiancé Andrea Foss, James and Madeline Geidel, Travis, Aaron and, Carolynn Bagley and fiancé Dalton Satterwhite, Kimberly, Dathnay and Shayna Jeremie; her great grandchildren McKaela McLaughlin, Braelyn Taylor, Hunter Norman, Ellie Satterwhite; and many children she welcomed as her own. The family would like to thank, the hospital team at Maine General Medical Center especially her doctors Dr. Calkins and Dr. Emmons, Grace Bible Church, Pastor Donald Niles, Lawry Brothers Funeral Homes, and her close friends and family. Visiting hours will be at Grace Bible Church, 333 Oak Street, Oakland, ME on Saturday April 23, 2016 from 9-10:30am and a celebration service of her life at 11:00am.
