Marcella E. Fallon Age 97, of Burlington, passed away on her 97th birthday, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Aurora Memorial Hospital. Marcella was born April 16, 1919 to Edward and Louise (nee Daniels) Ketterhagen in Burlington, WI. Her early life was spent in the Township of Burlington on the family farm. She graduated from St. Charles Grade School. On February 23, 1946 she was united in marriage to the late John Fallon at St. Charles Catholic Church. John passed away April 3, 1985. Following their marriage they resided on the farm in Dover Township from 1946 thru 1976. In 1976 they moved to the city of Burlington where Marcella was still living. She had worked at Burlington Brass Works during WWII, making artillery shells and then later at Foster Forbes. Marcella was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella Queenship of Mary Circle #55 and a member of the Burlington Senior Citizens. She was also involved in the Senior Club in Dover and a member of the St. Ann’s Society. Marcella enjoyed life; she played cards at the Senior Center, loved bird watching, bicycle riding, taking long walks, playing baseball during WWII and was an avid reader. Her faith was important to her and she was known to say the rosary at least twice a day. Marcella was known to be outspoken, but always helped others in need, she even received an award from the Burlington Police Department for saving her neighbors life. Marcella is survived by her children, John “Mick” Fallon, Kathleen (David) Thate, James (Sue) Fallon, Edward (Patty) Fallon, Francis Fallon, Patrick (Susan) Fallon, Daniel (Marilyn) Fallon, Ann (Michael) Moran and Mary (Robert) Pigors; grandchildren, Michele Callewaert, Shawn Fallon, Sarah and Amanda Thate, Tara Fallon, Robert (Christine) Poisl, Erin (Tim) Mosleth, Katie (Matt) Loth, Megan (Mark) Kittleson, Vincent Fallon, Jessica (Mike) Westfahl, Michael (Emily) Fallon, Derrick (Shannon) Fallon, Kelly (Chais) Parkos, James Fallon, Joseph (Samantha Schultz) Fallon, Shannon, Kevin, Brian, and Caitlin Fallon, Jeremiah (Anne) Moran, Coleman (Kandance Fettes-Moran) Moran, Aaron (Julie) Pigors and Kevin (Amy) Pigors, great-grandchildren; Shae and Chase Callewaert, Sabrina, Cody, and Caleb Poisl, Charlie and Emmett Loth, Eden Kittleson, Michael Jakubiak, Angela Fallon, Madigan Fallon, Avana Parkos, Kate and Brady Moran and Zoey Pigors. She is further survived by her sister Viola Priess, sister-in-law Gwen Ketterhagen, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband John; grandparents, John (Elizabeth nee Reesman) Koetterhagen, Nick (Barbara nee Kemp) Daniels, parents Edward (Louise nee Daniels) Ketterhagen, siblings; Barbara E. Riesland, Emil E. Ketterhagen, Elmer M. Ketterhagen, Elizabeth M. Ketterhagen, Caroline A. Baumeister, Bernice M. Ketterhagen, Phillip M. Ketterhagen, Louis J. Ketterhagen, Andrew M. Ketterhagen, Edward J. Ketterhagen, and John L. Ketterhagen, and many brothers and sisters-in law. Memorials for Marcella have been suggested to either the Burlington Senior Center or St. Charles Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Aurora Memorial Hospital, especially Kelsey in the ER, Erica with Hospice Care, Cat and the rest of the nursing staff for all their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 6:30 PM at St. Charles Catholic Church with Fr. James Volkert officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at St. Charles Church. Burial will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Cemetery.
