Obituary
Peter R. Stephany, age 67, of Hilbert passed away peacefully Saturday, April 16, 2016, at his home with his family at his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 6, 1948, to Raymond & Vernetta (Sippel) Stephany. He attended grade school at St. John's School in Johnsburg and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1966. On June 10, 1978, he married the love of his life, Arlene Groeschl, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. In 1986, he and his wife purchased the former Hardy's Sheet Metal in Hilbert. He enjoyed operating P & A Heating & A/C until March 2014 due to illness. Peter enjoyed spending time with his four children and five grandchildren. He and his son, Petie, spent many nights at the go-cart tracks with the carts that they built together. Many trophies were won by them. Peter enjoyed fishing, rummaging, and spending time in his shop. His favorite four legged feline friend was "Little Boy" among the other cats and dogs his wife "rescued". He was a jack of all traits. No project was too big or small he was able to fix anything. Peter was a very trustworthy and dependable businessman known as "Pete's in Heat". Survivors include his wife, Arlene; his four children, Steffanie (Jeremy) Gast of Hilbert, Amy Stephany of Menasha, Petie (Stephanie) Stephany of Hilbert and Molly Stephany of Hilbert; five grandchildren, Danica & Kyler Gast, Angelina Stephany, Carter & Colten Stephany; his God-child, Rebecca (Paul) Schmitz; his brother, Robert (Connie) Stephany of Greenleaf: his two sisters, Kathleen Abler of Malone and Joan (Jeff) Krueger of Malone; his in-laws, Shirley Groeschl of Fond du Lac, Richard (Sharon) Groeschl of Malone, Syl (Linda) Groeschl of Janesville and Janice (Robert) Haverland of Dubuque, IA. He is further survived by Melody, Eva and Becky. Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond & Vernetta Stephany; his brother, Billy Stephany; two brothers-in-law, Duane Abler and Lester Groeschl; his father-in-law, Sylvester Groeschl and mothers-in-law, Magdeline Groeschl & Mary Groeschl. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061.
