Joseph Weissenberger

In loving memory of Joseph Anthony Weissenberger of Commack, NY, passing at 83 years of age on November 2, 2019. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Ridgewood, Queens, Joe served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1953 through 1957. In 1954, Joe met the love of his life, Della Byrne, and in 1958 they wed and shared 61 blissful years until his passing. Joe is survived by six wonderful children and 16 adoring grandchildren. For 29 years, Joe served as a Nassau County Policeman before retiring in 1991. He also worked for more than 30 years as an independent contract roofer. Over the years, Joe developed an array of friendships throughout his Long Island community, including many lifelong bonds from the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Joe was a kind and generous soul. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Joseph A. Weissenberger may be sent to: Smithtown Hibernians Division #3 PO Box 380 Smithtown, NY 11787 Donations will be to purchase goods for Christ the King and St. Vincent DePaul food pantries for the upcoming holidays.
