Irene W. Hubinger Windsor, Connecticut Obituary

Irene W. Hubinger

Irene W. Hubinger, 94, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Harold Hubinger, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Stella (Zywocinski) Wojtowicz, she graduated from Hartford High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Hartford. Irene was a Federal IRS Agent and spent her entire career employed by the Internal Revenue Service, retiring as an Auditor. Irene was a faithful member of St. Gabriel Church in Windsor. Irene was a very giving and caring woman who loved her family dearly. She and Harold were always a part of their nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews lives, always attending their school functions and sporting events. They also absolutely loved to travel the globe together. Irene was a die hard Red Sox Fan and had a tremendous love for Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen, attending one of his concerts in her 80s. She loved to knit and crochet and her family fondly remembers the afghans she knitted for all her nieces and nephews in their college colors. She also was a voracious reader, especially Mysteries, and enjoyed going to the Windsor Library. When she was no longer able to go to the library, the Windsor Library came to her, delivering books directly to her home. She was forever grateful for that. Irene is survived by her nieces and nephews, Harriet Brooks, Robert Cressotti and his wife Marilyn, Patricia Cressotti, Dr. Dale Misiek and his wife Holly, and Mark Hubinger; along with their children, other relatives, and many friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Camille and Joseph Wojtyna, Mary and Frank Cressotti, Felixa "FiFi" and Nicholas Tyskewicz, and Jennie and Joseph Misiek; her nieces, Stella Saunders and Mary Lou McMullen; and her nephew, John Cressotti. Irene's family would like to thank her caregivers, Alina, Beata, and Anna, for the years of kindness, compassion, patience, and love given to her. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 10-11 a.m., at St. Gabriel Church, St. Damien of Molokai Parish, 379 Broad St., Windsor, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Windsor Public Library, 323 Broad St., Windsor, CT 06095 or to the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, P.O. Box 854, Windsor, CT 06095.
