Belchertown, Gary Walter "Gabe" Avery, 73, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2019. He was born on November 14, 1945 in Ware, to Frank Avery and Gladys (Webster) Avery Hanks. He lived for a time in Pelham and Amherst but spent most of his life in Belchertown. He was a self employed auto body repair mechanic. In his leisure, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and drag racing. He will be deeply missed by his wife Mary Ann (Guillette) Zawalski , his daughter Jennifer Avery -Trombley of Goshen, his twin children Melissa Avery of Wheelwright, and Gary , Jr. of Belchertown, and step children Tina Zawalski of Gilbertville and Ann Stevens of New Braintree. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Wayne and grandson Trent. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 30 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
